Rams Win Second Straight
The EW Rams boys travel team won their spring home opener by defeating the Toms River Rage 5-0 on Sunday afternoon. The boys are playing extremely well right now, and it was just seven minutes into the first half when they took the lead they would never relinquish.

In the 7th minute of the first half, Gregory Ewanis took a Sean Dailey pass down the right wing and let loose a blast that flew by the Toms River keeper for his second goal on the season, and an early Rams lead. Then, in the 17th minute of the first half Sean notched his second goal of the season by eluding a couple of defenders before squeaking a goal past the busy Toms River keeper for the 2-0 lead.

The Rams took a 2-0 lead to halftime; and, that is the way the score remained until Jamal Anderson finished a beautiful cross by Gregory Ewanis seven minutes into the second half. Sean Dailey followed with his second goal of the match by beating a couple of Toms River defenders and pushing a breakaway goal past the keeper for a 4-0 lead. And, intense pressure put on the Toms River defense by Jack Metzheiser led to a turnover and semi-breakaway that he blasted past the Toms River keeper for his first of the season, and the last for the Rams on Sunday afternoon.

Oliver Watkins and Jamal Anderson combined to make seven saves in recording their first shutout of the spring season. The shutout would not have been possible if not for the stellar defensive performances of Umair Sayeed, Christian and Christopher Coridon, TJ Korsah, David Winick and Tyler Paul. Thomas Prummer and Charlie Hulme played smart, aggressive soccer in helping their team secure this week's 5-0 shutout victory over Toms River.

Next week the Rams travel to Wall Township to face the Tornadoes.
