Rams Defense Sparks 2-1 Victory
Aggressive wing defenders Tyler Korsah and Umair Sayeed kept the pressure on the Battle of Monmouth Cyclones for most of the match; and, in the 40th minute Sean Dailey converted a Gregory Ewanis pass to secure a 2-1 victory for the EW Rams on Sunday. The superb defensive effort was anchored by sweeper Christian Coridon and keeper Oliver Watkins, who recorded two saves in earning the victory.

The Rams played most of the first half down a goal. However, in the 20th minute Christopher Coridon stepped into a loose ball and ripped a strong, left-footed shot past the Cyclones keeper to even the score 1-1. The goal was a direct result of heavy pressure by Charlie Hulme, Sean, Christopher and Umair.

The heavy pressure continued throughout the match, leading to Cyclones turnovers and good scoring chances for the Rams. Jack Metzheiser, Thomas Prummer, and David Winick nearly converted goals of their own by playing an aggressive, heavy pressure style all afternoon.

Next week the Rams (4-0) will be similarly tested as they travel to play their archrival the Freehold Strikers on Sunday.
