| Ewanis and
Metzheiser Lead Rams |
Although you
will not see their names in the
scoring column, Sunday’s 4-2 victory
over the Old Bridge Tigers would
never have been possible if it
weren’t for the sensational midfield
efforts of Gregory Ewanis and Dave
Metzheiser. The breathtaking,
two-way play of both midfielders
spurred the Rams to victory,
ensuring their spring MOSA season
remains unblemished (5-0-1).
In the 13th minute of the match
Thomas Prummer won a loose ball,
dribbled towards goal, and
distributed a perfect pass to
supporting wing defender Tyler
Korsah, whose quick cut and rip
netted his first of the spring and
an early 1-0 Rams lead.
The Rams would extend their lead in
the 26th minute when after winning a
50/50 ball Sean Dailey drove to goal
and squeaked his seventh of the
season passed the Old Bridge keeper.
In the 28th minute Jamal Anderson
eluded two OB defenders before
rifling home his fifth this spring,
and the eventual game winner.
Thomas Prummer closed out the Rams
scoring in the 36th minute of the
match. Thomas took a Charlie Hulme
pass and dribbled through three OB
defenders before touching twine for
the second time this spring.
Determined efforts were also turned
in by Rams’ greats David Winick,
Christopher and Christian Coridon,
Umair Sayeed, Tyler Paul, and keeper
Oliver Watkins (4 saves).
Next Saturday the Rams play two
tournament matches before traveling
to Toms River for a Sunday afternoon
tilt with the Rage. |
