Rams Strong Effort Not Enough
The East Windsor Rams 11-match MOSA unbeaten streak came to an end Sunday afternoon, as the Howell United Legends defeated the Rams by the score of 6-2. The Rams played hard and created several chances in the match. However, Howell created more and converted more, leaving the Rams to play from behind for most of the match. The Rams fought back hard but they could never sustain a rush heavy enough to overcome the Legends.

Down 2-0 in the first half, Jamal Anderson aggressively chased after a Christopher Coridon pass and won the loose ball away from the keeper. Jamal separated himself from the keeper’s reach to kick home his first of
the season, and bring the Rams to within one. Soon after, the Rams had a strong rush almost net the equalizer, but the Legends gained possession, transitioned, and scored to stretch the lead to two goals.

Howell opened the 2nd half with a quick strike to make it 4-1, and the Rams would return the favor in the 35th minute. Gregory Ewanis’ free kick bounced off of a Rams chest, across the penalty area, and right to Sean Dailey, who moved the ball into space and fired a left foot shot past the keeper to make the score 4-2. Howell would answer decisively with two more goals, and the rout would conclude at 6-2.

The Rams will regroup following the loss to Howell to prepare for next week’s home match against (1-1-0) Toms River Arsenal. Come root on the EWR next Sunday at 1:30!
